SHOWCASING its other side apart from basketball, the PBA is holding a run for a cause by the end of the month at the SM Mall of Asia.

Billed as ‘PBA Powerade Run For A Cause’, the event is for the benefit of children suffering from cancer and will be held beginning at 5 a.m. of July 31.

Batang Talk N’ Text Quezon-City earned a shot for a title repeat in the 2010 Powerade Batang PBA Pilipinas Championship following its 97-39 conquest of Powerade Batang Cebu in the semifinals Friday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Batang Talk N’ Text-Quezon City and Batang B-Meg Derby Ace-Caloocan swept their respective groups and appeared headed for another title rematch in the 2010 Powerade Batang PBA Pilipinas Championship.

Defending champion Batang Talk N Text-Quezon City defeated Powerade Batang Bacolod  Wednesday, 97-75, and secured its place in the cross-over semifinals of the 2010 Powerade Batang PBA Pilipinas Championship at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Two-time defending champion Batang Talk N’ Text-Quezon City will be making its third consecutive Finals appearance in the 2010 Coca-Cola Batang PBA Summer League following a 96-70 romp over Batang Rain or Shine-San Juan Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Aljun Melecio scored all of his team’s 32 points in the first quarter and Batang B-Meg Derby Ace-Caloocan went on to clobber Batang Air21-Taytay, 82-52, to clinch the last semifinal berth in the Coca-Cola Batang PBA Summer League at the old San Juan gym.

Batang Talk N’ Text-Quezon City and Batang Coca-Cola-Marikina swept the group eliminations of the Coca-Cola-Batang PBA Summer League with contrasting victories at the old San Juan gym.

Alberto Bordeos pumped in 16 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter as Batang Air21-Taytay defeated Batang San Miguel-Muntinlupa, 53-42, May 14 to stay in contention for a semifinal spot in the 2010 Coca-Cola-Batang PBA Summer League at the old San Juan gym.
